Thanks so much for a wonderful presentation. I can't wait to share this wealth of information with the ESL teacher at my school. The ideas you gave about how to use the various resources as well as the general everyday information about working with ESL students is going to be of great help to me as well. Thanks again.

Back in early 1980's, I studied Mr. Cummins'-- BICS and CALPS-- his important components in understanding the development of language. Now and back then, I felt that Mr. Cummins had unveiled the essence of language learning through his research. I am very impressed with AISD supporting the respect of one's native language. In 1967, I met my mentor, Mr. Ramon Lopez, during my freshman year in high school. He fluently spoke five languages--Spanish, English, German, French and Italian. When I asked him how difficult it would be for me to learn another language, he replied "In order for you to learn any other language in the world, you must first master your native language!" I am committed to enhance our students native language as well as to enrich their learning experiences by not limiting to skills only! This is why I have chosen to undertake as many technology workshops and other teaching methods workshops. The more I learn, the more likely I can diversify my strategies and challenge our children to become independent thinkers. I sincerely appreciated your guidance through the Digital Media course. Becoming advocates of a refined educational atmosphere can help us in bring up assertive children wherein their intelligence can flourish.

I completely agree with your perspective on the value of these educational tools. I look forward to learning more about how to use programs like iphoto, garageband and pbwiki. It's good to know that there is someone in AISD who can help the rest of us teachers become even more technologically proficient! Thank you for all your work!
